Tirupati-Secunderabad bound Vande Bharat Express halted abruptly on Wednesday evening in Andhra Pradesh’s Manubolu after a fire alarm triggered panic among the passengers.

A passenger started smoking inside the lavatory of the train, which caused the fire alarm to ring, according to railway officials. The incident took place in the C-13 compartment of train number 20702 after it crossed Gudur.

As the alarm rang, the Aerosol Fire extinguisher began releasing powder-like smoke, which created a panic-like situation among the other passengers.

However, the train guard was informed about the matter through an emergency phone call inside the coach, due to which the train stopped abruptly at Manubolu at around 5 pm.
