The former Indian captain, who has 4066 runs to his name in 121 T20Is played so far, needs 80 more runs to break Babar Azam’s world record of 4145 runs and take No. 1 position in the elite list.
Virat was the leading run scorer in T20Is before the start of the T20 World Cup 2024, but due to his poor form in the first four matches, he lost the No. 1 position to Babar. Apart from Kohli, Indian captain Rohit Sharma will also have a chance to break Babar’s record. Rohit has 4050 runs to his name in 155 T20Is for India, and he needs 96 runs to overtake Babar in the elite list.
