A Delhi court on Monday denied bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s aide Bibhav Kumar in the Swati Maliwal assault case.

Additional Sessions Judge Sushil Anuj Tyagi of the Tis Hazari Courts passed the order.

Kumar was arrested by the Delhi Police on May 18. He was then remanded to police custody for five days. On May 24, he was sent to judicial custody.

Maliwal is the Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament (MP) from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). She has alleged that she was assaulted by Kumar at Kejriwal’s residence.

As per the FIR, Kumar hit Maliwal in her chest, stomach and the pelvic area with legs.

AAP has countered allegations.

Some videos have also surfaced on social media showing Maliwal having an argument with the security personnel and walking out of the Chief Minister’s residence.

Kumar’s counsel told the Court today that she came to CM’s residence with without invitation and trespassed into the property.

“Who called her? Was she invited? She barged in and tresspassed in CM’s residence,” the Court was told.

The counsel questioned why Maliwal did not file a police complaint the same day and why she was not examined at any Delhi government hospital but AIIMS.

“Everything was pre-planned to suit the story.”

Meanwhile, Delhi Police told the Court that Maliwal was hit on her chest and neck and was dragged during which she hit her head on the table.
