Russian Newspaper Tears Into Western Media For Condemning India’s G20 Preparedness

Slamming the Western media for criticizing India’s event, the Russian newspaper — The Russian Times (RT) vehemently stated that Western media has ‘double character’. The Russian Times asserted that India made world-class arrangements for the G20 Summit. It said that there can be minor flaws but the arrangements are worthy to be applauded.

While India’s G20 Presidency has been praised worldwide, Western nations have been pushing for strong condemnation in the G20 New Delhi Declaration and criticised India for its preparedness, on which, Russia, which has always backed India owing to its friendship, gave a befitting reply.
Slamming the Western media for criticizing India’s event, the Russian newspaper — The Russian Times (RT) vehemently stated that Western media has ‘double character’. The Russian Times asserted that India made world-class arrangements for the G20 Summit. It said that there can be minor flaws but the arrangements are worthy to be applauded.

The Russian Times (RT), while targeting the Western media, has said that India is hosting the G20, the organization of the world’s largest economies, for the first time in a grand manner. But the Western media is not focusing on these things and is publishing only negative news. “This is very unfortunate.”

In particular, Western journalists highlighted the beautification campaign carried out by Indian authorities to remove slums ahead of the summit. The Russian Times has argued that the Western media failed to acknowledge the hard work put in by Indian officials to ensure the success of the G20 Summit. The Russian Times also criticized Western journalists for their tendency to only seek out negative stories during the G20 summit.
