Jasprit Bumrah continues to shine for India in the longest format of the sport. He reached his milestone 150th Test wicket after dismissing the English skipper Ben Stokes in the first innings of the second Test at Hyderabad. The wicket of Ben Stokes also makes him the fastest Indian pacer to reach the milestone as well.
The fast bowler came around the wicket against Ben Stokes to get the delivery which was nipping back in and deceived the batter completely as it beat him and went on to crash onto the stumps.
This is not the first time today he managed to get the batter clean-bowled, he also managed to dismiss the in-form Ollie Pope who had scored 196 runs in the first Test with a toe-crushing yorker to get him clean-bowled. He then went on to grab the wickets of Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow as well.
Another notable feat for Bumrah is that he has taken the fewest number of deliveries among Indian bowlers to reach the milestone as well which shows his immense wicket-taking ability in the Test format for India.
Soon after the wicket of Ben Stokes he also managed to get the wicket of Tom Hartley who was looking to go after the bowlers and bring down the deficit of runs as well with the boundaries. Hartley looked to go again but edged the delivery to the man at slips who took the catch there as he managed to bring up a class five-wicket haul as well.
Another interesting stat to add here is that after Bumrah’s heroics today, the last time an Indian seamer dismissed the opposition batters batting at the #3, #4, #5 and #6 in an innings for a Test match being played in India was none other than the legendary Indian skipper, Kapil Dev who finished with 9/83 against the West Indies in Ahmedabad in 1983.
