The families of two British men missing in Sweden are appealing for information on their whereabouts amid fears they were victims of a double murder.

It comes after a pair of bodies were found in a burning car in an industrial area of Malmo on Sunday afternoon.

Emergency workers made the discovery after they put out the flames – with a possible bullet hole in one of the victims, according to local media.

Police are yet to formally identify them but reports say they are British and may have been shot before the fire started.

Juan Cifuentes, 33, and Farooq Abdulrazak, 37, travelled to Denmark and Sweden for an overnight business trip and were due to return to the UK at 6pm on Sunday, according to a social media appeal.

The appeal said they never came home and have not been in contact since.

The pair are from north London and are understood to work for a travel company.

The Toyota Rav 4 later found burnt out had been rented from Copenhagen airport after two Britons flew from Heathrow, according to Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet.

CCTV indicated three people were inside when it drove over the Oresund Bridge to Sweden, Sydsvenskan, another Swedish paper, reported.
