Novak Djokovic defeated Stan Wawrinka to secure his 31st consecutive victory at Wimbledon, propelling him into the last 16 of a Grand Slam for an impressive 61st time. In the next round, he is set to face Poland’s 17th seed Hubert Hurkacz.
Novak Djokovic continued his dominant run at Wimbledon by defeating Stan Wawrinka in their third-round clash on Friday. Wawrinka had already expressed his belief that he had no chance of beating the seven-time champion, and his prediction proved accurate as he was outplayed on Centre Court.
Djokovic wasted no time in asserting his dominance, quickly winning the first two sets. His precise and powerful groundstrokes left Wawrinka struggling to keep up. Despite facing some resistance from Wawrinka in the third set, Djokovic ultimately secured a 6-3, 6-1, 7-6(5) victory.
