Ukraine-based military groups, allegedly made up of Russian partisans, say they have carried out an incursion across Russia’s western border. Meanwhile, a transport plane has crashed about 250 miles east of Moscow, the defence ministry has told state news agencies.
These images come to us from the Ukrainian region of Sumy, where firefighters were pictured battling a blaze which resulted from a Russian drone strike.
At least 10 people were pulled from the rubble after a drone struck a five-story residential building, which damaged some 30 apartments and destroyed 15 more.
No deaths were reported.
The regional administration said the drone was a “Shahed” (Iranian-made) model.
