Hugh Jackman and wife Deborra-Lee Furness separate after 27 years of marriage

Hugh Jackman and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness’s love story has come to an end after 27 years of marriage.

“We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,” the former couple said in a joint statement to People Friday.

“Our journey now is shifting, and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.”

Jackman, 54, and Furness, 67, continued, “Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love and kindness.

“We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives.”

The statement, signed “Deb and Hugh Jackman,” concluded, “This is the sole statement either of us will make.”

Jackman’s reps declined to comment further, while Furness’s rep did not immediately return our request.

The actors, who both hail from Australia, met on the set of Australian TV series “Correlli” in 1995.

Jackman and Furness tied the knot in 1996 and they share two adopted kids, Oscar Maximilian Jackman, 23, and Ava Eliot Jackman, 18, after struggling to conceive naturally and via IVF.

“Our motivation behind adopting was, ‘Where is the need?’” the “X-Men” star told People in 2017.

“The biggest need is in mixed-race kids. I want to tell my kids that … it doesn’t matter what sexual [orientation] you are, it doesn’t matter what job you do, it doesn’t matter whether your hair is straight or curly, if you’re tall or short, man or woman, what race you are. What defines you as a human being is underneath all that.”

Jackman and Furness’ long-lasting marriage was often praised for withstanding the test of time in Hollywood.

Irina Shayk playing the field with Tom Brady — but still wants to marry ex Bradley Cooper

Irina Shayk is playing the field with Tom Brady, but she still wants to settle down with Bradley Cooper.

The supermodel has been spending time with both her on-again-off-again flame, Cooper, as well as retired NFL stud, Brady, as part of the world’s best-looking love triangle.

A source tells us when it comes to Cooper versus Brady, Shayk is still hoping to tie the knot and settle down with the “The Hangover” star, with whom she shares 6-year-old daughter Lea de Seine.

“Years have been put into the relationship,” says a source.

In late August, Shayk and Cooper were spotted together on an Italian vacation complete with a topless photoshoot.

But earlier this week the Russian model was spotted rushing into the former New England Patriots star’s NYC apartment.

The friendly exes jetted off to Italy in August for a family vacation.

One insider tells us Cooper, 48, was starting to get jealous of the model’s relationship with the football hunk — but another tells us he is just happy for his ex.

“[Shayk and Cooper] haven’t been together in so long,” says the source. “They are co-parents and that’s that. They are best friends. They are happy. Brad really likes Tom, and there is nothing but support.”

We hear that Shayk, 37, plans to keep spending time with Brady if Cooper isn’t going to “lock things down” with her.

China launches projects to build ‘new-era’ marriage, childbearing culture

China will launch pilot projects in more than 20 cities to create a “new-era” marriage and childbearing culture to foster a friendly child bearing environment, the latest move by authorities to boost the country’s falling birth rate.

China’s Family Planning Association, a national body that implements the government’s population and fertility measures, will launch the projects to encourage women to marry and have children, state backed Global Times reported on Monday.

Promoting marrying, having children at appropriate ages, encouraging parents to share child-rearing responsibilities, and curbing high “bride prices” and other outdated customs are the focus of the projects, the Times said.

Cities included in the pilot include the manufacturing hub Guangzhou and Handan in China’s Hebei province. The association already launched projects in 20 cities including Beijing last year, the Times said.

“The society needs to guide young people more on the concept of marriage and childbirth,” demographer He Yafu told the Times.

The projects come amid a flurry of measures Chinese provinces are rolling out to spur people to have children, including tax incentives, housing subsidies, and free or subsidised education for having a third child.

China implemented a rigid one-child policy from 1980 until 2015 – the root of many of its demographic challenges that have allowed India to become the world’s most populous nation. The limit has since been raised to three children.

Concerned about China’s first population drop in six decades and its rapid ageing, the government’s political advisers proposed in March that single and unmarried women should have access to egg freezing and IVF treatment, among other services to boost the country’s fertility rate.
