Ankur Garg and Luv Ranjan met with former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly to discuss his upcoming biopic. The directors have already finished the scriptwriting and according to sources, it contains various unknown stories and interesting incidents from Ganguly’s life.
For the longest time now, there has been chatter around the Sourav Ganguly biopic. And while the same was eventually confirmed, reports have it that the shooting for the same is likely to start by the end of this year and Ankur Garg, Luv Ranjan along with two filmmakers met the former Indian skipper at his residence in Kolkata on May 26.
Sourav Ganguly biopic in the works
Sourav Ganguly is set to have his own biopic and reports have it that two Ankur Garg and Luv Ranjan met Sourav at his Behala house on Friday. The source was quoted by IndiaToday as saying, “There is a detailed discussion about the film. It is heard that the two directors have recorded various incidents of Sourav Ganguly’s life. The script writing has already finished. The screenplay contains many unknown stories of life as well as many interesting incidents. The director wants to enrich the spice of entertainment in the film made on Sourav’s life to the audience, not just the recordings of BCCI president. Lots of things have been recorded from his close associates also.”
Further, reports have it that a lot of what Dada’s wife Dona Ganguly had to say has been recorded as well. While everyone knows of Sourav’s leadership and cover drive, the biopic will try to bring forward an unknown story of the former Indian captain.
Who will play Sourav Ganguly?
Many names from Bollywood were speculated to take on the role with Ranbir Kapoor ‘s name being the most prominent. However, reports have it that the lead actor is not final just yet and Ayushmann Khurrana ‘s name also made headlines for the part.
