Saudi Arabia has announced the safe evacuation of 66 foreign nationals, including Indians, from violence-hit Sudan days after External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held talks with his counterpart in the Arab nation.
Saudi Arabia has announced the safe evacuation of foreign nationals, including Indians, from violence-hit Sudan. The Saudi foreign ministry in a statement on Saturday said it has so far evacuated 91 stranded foreign nationals.
The Arab nation announced that out of 91 foreign nationals evacuated, 66 were from friendly countries, including India. It has also evacuated Bangladeshi nationals as well from conflict-ridden Sudan.
This comes days after External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held talks with his counterparts in Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Both countries had assured their “practical support on the ground”.

“The number of citizens who were evacuated from friendly countries reached 66, representing the following nationalities – Kuwait, Qatar, UAE, Egypt, Tunisia, Pakistan, India, Bulgaria, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Canada and Burkina Faso,” the Saudi foreign minister said in a statement.
