India have reportedly selected their squad for the 2023 ODI World Cup. Sanju Samson, who has travelled to Sri Lanka as a backup player for Asia Cup, has been dropped along with Tilak Varma and Prasidh Krishna. India will officially unveil their squad on September 5.
The Indian selectors have reportedly selected the 15-member squad for the 2023 ODI World Cup and will soon make it public. The Indian Express has reported that the selection meeting took place after the washed out game against Pakistan on September 2.
There was no surprise in the team and the selectors picked players from the pool which has travelled to Sri Lanka. KL Rahul, who will soon land in Sri Lanka, retained his place in the squad. The wicketkeeper-batsman couldn’t land in SL early due to a niggle.
Rahul had recovered from the thigh injury but had a niggle. He is now fit and will be available for the Super Four matches of the Asia Cup. India look all but set to face Pakistan in their first Super Four game on September 10. Before that, they are scheduled to face Nepal on Monday (September 4).
