Rahul Gandhi Defamation Case Live Updates Today: Congress workers will hold a Satyagraha in front of Mahatma Gandhi’s statues at all states and district headquarters, from 10 am to 5 pm today.
The Congress Party will observe a day-long ‘Satyagraha’ today, in order to protest against Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification from the Lok Sabha. The Satyagraha will be held in front of Mahatma Gandhi’s statues at all states and district headquarters, from 10 am to 5 pm. Party president Mallikarjun Kharge and party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will stage the satyagraha at Raj Ghat in Delhi.
A day after Gandhi was disqualified from the Lok Sabha, he said “I was disqualified because PM Narendra Modi is scared of my next speech on Adani… I can see it in his eyes”. The former Wayanad MP said that he was not afraid and would continue to raise questions about the links between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and businessman Gautam Adani. He criticised the Centre for allegedly backing the businessman. “For this government, country is Adani and Adani is country,” he said.
Meanwhile, senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad alleged that Congress did not try to immediately obtain a stay on Gandhi’s conviction by a Gujarat court because they wanted to “encash” the issue in the upcoming assembly polls in Karnataka. Prasad also charged Gandhi with having been “abusive, not critical” in his utterances about the Modi surname which led to the defamation suit.
