According to data collected from January 30 to February 5, the latest approval ratings, as reported by a US-based global decision intelligence agency Morning Consult, indicate that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emerged as the most popular global leader, with a 78 per cent approval rating.
This surpasses the approval ratings of leaders such as US President Joe Biden, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and UK’s Rishi Sunak.
PM Modi Tops Global Approval Rankings
The ratings, reflecting a weekly moving average of views among adults in each surveyed country, were based on data collected during the specified period, as stated on the agency’s website. Prime Minister Modi, aged 73, who is seeking a third successive term in office, is aiming to achieve a feat comparable to India’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
Nehru, who assumed office on India’s Independence Day in 1947, led the Congress party to victories in 1952, 1957, and 1962 before his passing in 1964.PM Modi topped the Morning Consult Survey with a 78 per cent approval rating. Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador ranked second with a 65 per cent approval rating, followed by Argentina’s Javier Milei with a 63 per cent approval rating.
