On Giorgia Meloni’s G7 Invite, Narendra Modi To Visit Italy In First Foreign Visit After Swearing-in

Notably, Modi had received an invitation from his Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni to attend the G7 Summit Outreach Session in Italy in June.

New Delhi: PM-elect Narendra Modi will be visiting Italy as his first foreign nation tour after taking oath as Prime Minister for the third time on June 9. Modi will visit Italy on June 13-14 for the G7 summit where he is likely to hold important bilateral meetings.

Here, the PM-designate will is also likely to meet US President Joe Biden and UK counterpart Rishi Sunak ahead of elections in both countries.

Notably, Modi had received an invitation from his Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni to attend the G7 Summit Outreach Session in Italy in June. He spoke to Italian Prime Minister Meloni and thanked her for the invite to the G7 Summit Outreach Sessions to be held in Italy’s Puglia, the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement.

Later, Modi wished Meloni and the people of Italy on the 79th anniversary of Liberation Day in a post on X and said, “Thanked her for the invite to the G7 Summit in June. Discussed taking forward #G20India outcomes at the G7. Reaffirmed commitment to deepening our Strategic Partnership.”

The Summit is scheduled to be held on June 13-15.
