NEET, NET Row: The 7 member committee formed by Education Ministry conducted its first meeting on June 24 and decided that their first priority is to take suggestions from parents and students. Their next priority is to build a robust system for starting the tests.
The committee has decided to consolidate the suggestions they will receive in the next two weeks. “The first priority for us is to elicit from the students and parents in the country their concerns and suggestions. We are going to engage with them as far as possible in person, or through electronic media. And in the next fortnight, we would like to consolidate this,” Radhakrishnan told DD News. A source told PTI that the panel also looked into the statistics provided by the Nta about the multiple exams conducted by it and the number of candidates appearing for each exam.
“The next priority for us is to build quickly a robust system for starting the tests. We are also looking at the future, especially to develop in this country a robust system, a tamper-proof system, a system with zero error, and a system that will lessen the difficulties and stress for the students with adequate flexibility built into it,” K Radhakrishnan added.
The committee has been formed to make recommendations on reform in mechanism of examination process, and overlook the functioning of testing agency. The committee also aims to assess the current Grievance Redressal Mechanism of NTA and share suggestions for enhancing its efficiency.
