Veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Murli Manohar Joshi paid a visit to his senior colleague Lal Krishna Advani at his residence in Delhi on Saturday to congratulate him for being conferred with India’s highest civilian award, Bharat Ratna.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday morning announced that LK Advani, who led the Ram Janmabhoomi movement in the 1990s, will be conferred the Bharat Ratna.
According to an ANI report, Murli Manohar Joshi called it his great fortune that he got to work with Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Nanaji Deshmukh and LK Advani.
“Deeply happy to see Lal Krishna Advani ji honoured with Bharat Ratna. I congratulate him. It is my good fortune that I got the opportunity to work with Bharat Ratna Atal Ji, Bharat Ratna Nanaji Deshmukh and Bharat Ratna Advani Ji for more than 60 years,” Joshi, 90, said.

PM Modi on Saturday hailed the 96-year-old former deputy PM and described him as ‘one of the most respected statesmen of our times’, adding that the veteran politician’s contribution to the development of India is monumental.
