Worli BMW hit-and-run case accused Mihir Shah was hiding in a resort in Virar Phata with his friend. The friend switched on his mobile for 15 minutes this morning, leading to the police tracking them down.
Mihir Shah, the prime accused in the Worli hit-and-run case, was arrested on Tuesday after being untraceable for three days. The police managed to trace Mihir after one of his friends switched on his mobile phone.
Mihir Shah, son of Shiv Sena leader Rajesh Shah, allegedly rammed his BMW into a scooter in Worli, killing a woman. The incident occured on July 7, following which Mihir was untraceable.
After the incident, Mihir Shah went to Bandra’s Kala Nagar area riding the same BMW. His driver Rajrishi Bidawat, who was later arrested, was also with him in the car, sitting in the passenger seat.
Mihir called his father Rajesh Shah and told him about the incident. Rajesh asked his son to leave the city and said that Rajrishi would take blame for the incident.
Mihir then called his girlfriend and reached her home in Goregaon in an autorikshaw. The police found that there were 40 calls between them on July 7 morning.
The accused then slept at his girlfriend’s home for two hours and told her about the accident and death of the woman. She then called his elder sister Pooja, who is also her business partner. Pooja went to the Goregaon home and took Mihir back to their Borivali residence.
