“Na Mai Yaha Aaya Hoon, Na Mujhe Kisi Ne Bheja Hai, Mujhe Toh Maa Ganga Ne Bulaya Hai (Neither have I come here nor has anyone sent me, Mother Ganga has called me),” said Narendra Modi, then Chief Minister of Gujarat as he filed his nomination from Varanasi Lok Sabha seat in 2014. Recalling the same remark on Tuesday as he gears up to file nomination for the third time from Varanasi, Modi said that mother Ganga had adopted him and his bond with Kashi is similar to a mother’s relation with his son.
The Prime Minister tweeted an old video in which he said his relationship with Kashi could not be described in words. “This relationship is not just that of a people’s representative. It is a spiritual one and I cannot describe it in words,” PM Modi said.
PM Modi will begin his day with a dip in the Holy Ganges at the Dasaswamedh Ghat and head for a puja at the famous Kaal Bhairav temple soon after.
