Speculations around Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) joining the ruling BJP-led NDA alliance ahead of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 have gained ground after Thackeray arrived in Delhi late Monday night.

Over the past few days there have been speculations about Thackeray joining the BJP-Shiv Sena-NCP Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra. On Monday night Thackeray reached Delhi along with his son Amit Thackeray. The MNS chief met Union Home Minister Amit Shah today at his Delhi residence.

Earlier speaking to news agency ANI, Thackeray had said, “I don’t know what my schedule is yet. I was just told to come to Delhi. Let’s see.”

Speaking on MNS chief Raj Thackeray’s Delhi visit, NCP-SCP leader and MP Supriya Sule said, “He has gone to Delhi. Now it remains to be seen who he will meet there. I feel that this is the time to fight against corruption, unemployment and inflation…For which the states must work within the framework of the Constitution…” When asked if MNS will be included in the MVA, she told reporters, “Everyone will be welcomed and respected in the Aghadi…”

Pertinently, the BJP convened a core committee meeting in eight states including Maharashtra to deliberate on potential candidates for the Lok Sabha elections 2024.
