The incident sparked widespread protests with doctors demanding justice for the victim and a security act for medical personnel.
Meanwhile, a delegation of protesting doctors met with Health Ministry officials on Sunday and said that the discussions were inconclusive. They said they are not satisfied with the assurance given by the ministry.
The Health Ministry asked them to call off the nation-wide protest. The delegation, led by Federation of All India Medical Association, made it clear that any such decision would only be considered if the demands are fully met.
Protesting doctors are planning to meet the Health Ministry officials today as well to present a written representation of demands. For now, nationwide protest will continue.
