According to the FIR, the father alleged that after arguing with them, their daughter used to go to a friend’s house. She had been staying there for the past 15 days.
In the FIR pertaining to the murder of a 16-year-old girl by a 20-year-old man in Shahbad Dairy, the deceased’s father claimed he knew of his daughter’s relationship with the accused and asked her to stay away from him and “focus on studies”, police sources said.
A senior officer, quoting the FIR, said: “The father said he knew that the accused and the victim knew each other since the last year, and that the accused, Sahil, used to live a short distance from their house.”
In the FIR, the father said, “Whenever my daughter mentioned Sahil… we would make her understand that she is too young right now and should focus on her studies… Whenever we tried to convince her to leave Sahil and focus on other things, she used to fight with us and leave the house after getting upset.”
According to the FIR, the father alleged that after arguing with them, their daughter used to go to a friend’s house. She had been staying there for the past 15 days.
The girl’s parents had earlier said they were unaware of Sahil or how he was related to their daughter. The mother had said on Monday: “My daughter had once told me that if I ever wanted to get an AC or a fridge repaired, I should tell her… I asked how she knew this person (Sahil), but she told me he was an acquaintance…”
A senior police officer said the victim’s close friends, who have joined the investigation, claimed they knew about the fight between the girl and the accused. According to the officer, the friends alleged the accused threatened her in the past week over voice texts sent through social media and told her he would kill her.
