The ruling BJP has also released the names of all its candidates for the upcoming polls in the southern state. Elections for the 224-member Karnataka Assembly will be held on May 10 and the counting of votes will be held on May 13.

The Congress released on Thursday its sixth and final list of candidates for the next month’s Karnataka Assembly election. The list released in the early hours of Thursday included the names of five candidates.
According to the final list, the party has fielded Mohammed Shalem was fielded from Raichur and Inayath Ali from Mangalore City North. BV Rajeev Gowda has been given a ticket from Sidlaghatta, while S Anand Kumar will contest from CV Raman Nagar (SC). HP Sridhar Gowda has been nominated by the party as its candidate from Arkalgud.
With its final list, the Congress has announced 223 candidates, marking one seat for Sarvodaya Karnataka Party, a regional outfit.

Mohammed Yousuf Savanur was on Wednesday replaced as the party’s candidate from the Shiggaon constituency in Karnataka, currently under Chief Minister Basavraj Bommai, by Yasir Ahmed Khan Pathan.
