Bengaluru: An Indian-origin professor at the University of Westminster in London Nitasha Kaul alleged that she was denied entry into India after she landed in Bengaluru to take part in a seminar on the Constitution organised by the Karnataka government. Kaul is an Overseas Citizen of India.
She is a faculty member at the Department of Politics and International Relations, University of Westminster. Kaul claimed that she was invited by the Karnataka government for the conference on ‘The Constitution and Unity of India’ being held in Bengaluru on Saturday and Sunday.
Kaul alleged that she was denied entry by the Centre despite having all the valid documents. She landed at the Kenpagowda Airport in Bengaluru on February 23. “Denied entry to #India for speaking on democratic & constitutional values. I was invited to a conference as an esteemed delegate by Govt of #Karnataka (Congress-ruled state) but Centre refused me entry. All my documents were valid & current,” the professor said in one of her tweets.
