External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that India is ‘open to looking at’ their Hardeep Singh Nijjar allegations if Canada presents something specific and relevant. The 58-year-old was speaking at the ‘Discussion at Council on Foreign Relations’ in New York City after his United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) address on Tuesday.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that India is ‘open to looking at’ their Hardeep Singh Nijjar allegations if Canada presents something specific and relevant. The 58-year-old was speaking at the ‘Discussion at Council on Foreign Relations’ in New York after his UN General Assembly address.
Jaishankar further added that India will take action if Canada presents a complete picture. “We told the Canadians that this is not the government of India’s policy. Secondly, we said if you have something specific and if you have something relevant, let us know. We are open to looking at it…The picture is not complete without the context in a way,” he said.
Jaishankar further added that there is a lot of ‘organised crime’ in Canada in the last few years. He said that the Indian government has given a lot of information to Canada about this.
