Rahul Bose reveals how he became a climate activist
During the India Climate Summit 2024, Rahul Bose spilled the beans on how he went from an actor-athlete to a climate activist. Revealing that his journey to become a climate activist started way back in 2011-12, the B-town star shared, “The Climate Action Network had asked me to travel to Canada to campaign for climate change and I said, ‘I don’t get it.’ First of all, I’m not that famous. It’s not that I’m a household name in Canada. Second, what would I be doing there and third, why was an Indian coming in?”
While Rahul didn’t understand the network’s move at first, they explained the actor had been contacted to encourage voters, especially those of Indian living in Canada, to vote for candidates based on their stance on climate change. “The Climate Action Network wanted me to go house to house and just ask voters to make climate change one of the parameters on which they decided to vote or not vote for a candidate.” While the B-town star found the idea of walking into people’s houses rather scary, it was because of this experience that he gained an interest in climate change. “That was the time my interest grew,” he shared.
