In a major setback before the Lok Sabha polls, 22 leaders of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) have resigned in protest against the ticket distribution for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Bihar. Expressing their dissatisfaction, the resignations come amid allegations of ticket distribution in exchange for money within the party ranks.

Among the prominent figures who stepped down are former minister Renu Kushwaha, former MLA and national general secretary Satish Kumar, state organisation minister Ravindra Singh, Ajay Kushwaha, Sanjay Singh, and State General Secretary Rajesh Dangi.

Former MP Renu Kushwaha, expressing her disappointment, stated, “Ticket should be given to the party workers instead of people from outside. Tickets were given to the outsiders which means that able people are not there in your party. Are we the labour class people in your party who will work for you, make you a leader? Our devotion was questioned when an outsider was given a ticket. We are not here to serve as labourers for the party.”

Former MLA and national general secretary Satish Kumar, in response to not receiving a ticket, emphasised that the rebel LJP leaders will now support the INDIA bloc. He criticised the LJP Supremo for giving tickets to undeserving candidates and vowed to support the INDIA alliance.
