The strength of the Indian Passport has dropped! As per the Henley Passport Index 2024 for Q2, the rankings of the Indian Passport have slipped from 80 to 85. The number of visa-free destinations for Indians has remained the same at 62 destinations.
Earlier this year, in January, the Indian passport maintained the same rank as the 2023 rankings and stayed strong at 80. However, in the new rankings, this ranking has slipped.
In 2022, the Indian passport ranked at the 87th position with no visa needed for around 60 destinations. In 2023, India ranked 80 with visa-free travel to 52 destinations.

Based on the new rankings, five destinations have been removed from the list of visa-free travel for Indians. For the Q2 rankings for the Henley Passport Index, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Singapore and Spain remain tied for the world’s strongest passport with visa-free travel to 194 countries. In 2023, Singapore topped the list while Japan slipped to the second position.
