Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has announced his boycott of the NITI Aayog meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and released a video criticising the 2024 Union Budget. Stalin accused the central government of using the budget as a “vengeful act” against states and individuals who opposed the BJP, particularly those aligned with the INDIA bloc.
“The budget presented by the Union Finance Minister seems like a vengeful act against the states and people who boycotted the BJP. She has prepared a budget to take revenge against those who voted for the INDIA bloc. The union BJP govt is disregarding Tamil Nadu continuously,” he said.
“We have been pushed to come to the people following the continuous step motherly treatment from the Centre,” he added.
The Tamil Nadu CM accused the Centre of treating states badly which did not vote in favour of the BJP. “A good government is for both the people who voted for them and the ones who didn’t vote for them,” he said.
Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin’s Video Message
He accused the Modi government of indulging in politics of vote which he claimed his predecessors never did.
“All governments until Modi-led governments came to power followed this rule only. It is only Modi-led BJP government that is never thinking about the people and rather is interested in politics than good governance,” he added.
No Mention Of Tamil Nadu In Budget
Stalin was severely critical of the Budget 2024 as he raised concerns over the neglect of the souther state by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
“No mention of Tamil Nadu anywhere in the budget. No mention of any Thirukkural. Now Thiruvallur has vanished for the BJP who was very important until elections for them. But I’m glad his name of writing has not been in used in this kind of a budget,” he said.
