Donald Trump compares himself to CHRIST in bizarre posts from inside hush money court

Disgraced former President Donald Trump posted an extract from the Bible on social media, comparing himself to Jesus Christ who “walked through His greatest persecution” this week

Donald Trump is comparing himself to Jesus Christ in one of his most bizarre social media posts yet.

The disgraced former President has posted an extract from the Bible referring to Easter. It comes as Trump is currently attending a hearing in Manhattan for his ‘hush money’ case, which has been delayed.

Meanwhile, a New York appeals court has just agreed to hold off collection of his $454 million civil fraud judgement — if he puts up $175 million within 10 days. If he does, it will stop the clock on the collection and prevent the state from seizing his assets while he appeals.

In a brazen post on Truth Social, Trump wrote, “Received this morning—Beautiful, thank you!” and then a message supposedly sent by one of his supporters, which read, “It’s ironic that Christ walked through His greatest persecution the very week they are trying to steal your property from you. But have you seen this verse…?”

He then added a passage from the Bible, specifically from the Plea for Judgement of False Accusers. The passage read: “They have also surrounded me with words of hatred,/ And fought against me without a cause./4 In return for my love they are my accusers,/ But I give myself to prayer./ 5 Thus they have rewarded me evil for good, /And hatred for my love.

“6 Set a wicked man over him,/ And let an [a]accuser stand at his right hand./ 7 When he is judged, let him be found guilty,/ And let his prayer become sin./ 8 Let his days be few,/ And let another take his office.”

The post then concluded with the supposed message from a supporter: “I’m praying this over you daily. So many praying for you. Thank you again for taking the arrows intended for us. We love you”

The latest development on Trump’s civil fraud case came just before New York Attorney General Letitia James was expected to initiate efforts to collect the judgement. Trump’s lawyers had pleaded for a state appeals court to halt collection, claiming it was “a practical impossibility” to get an underwriter to sign off on a bond for such a large sum.

The ruling was issued by the state’s intermediate appeals court, the Appellate Division of the state’s trial court, where Trump is fighting to overturn a judge’s Feb. 16 finding that he lied about his wealth as he grew the real estate empire that launched him to stardom and the presidency.

After James won the judgement, she didn’t seek to enforce it during a legal time-out for Trump to ask the appeals court for a reprieve from paying up. That period ended Monday, though James could have decided to allow Trump more time.

James, a Democrat, told ABC News last month that if Trump doesn’t have the money to pay, she would seek to seize his assets and was “prepared to make sure that the judgement is paid.”

She didn’t detail the process or specify what holdings she meant, and her office has declined more recently to discuss its plans. Meanwhile, it has filed notice of the judgement, a technical step toward potentially moving to collect.

As Trump arrived Monday at a different New York court for a separate hearing in his criminal hush money case, he didn’t respond to a journalist’s question about whether he’d obtained a bond. Earlier Monday, he railed in social media posts against the civil judgement and the possibility that James would seek to enforce it.
