Diljit Dosanjh’s “Dil-Luminati” concert in Hyderabad became a flashpoint of controversy after the Telangana government issued a notice urging the singer to avoid songs promoting alcohol, drugs, or violence. The notice, which also prohibited the use of children on stage, drew sharp criticism from Diljit and ignited a political slugfest.
In a clip shared widely on social media, Diljit can be heard saying, “If an artist comes from outside the country, they can sing whatever they want, do whatever they want, and there’s no problem. But when an Indian artist sings, then you have an issue; you have to interfere. But let me tell you, there is God. I won’t let this go.”

Political Slugfest Over Diljit’s Concert Row
A political slugfest erupted over the controversy surrounding the concert and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) slammed the state government.
BJP leader NV Subhash said, “As far as Diljit Dosanjh is concerned when he says that he wanted to declare Telangana as a dry state during his performance. This shows how inefficient the Revanth Reddy government is because the pubs have been open till 1 am in the night. People are going in and around the city drinking without any alcohol tests. And there is a drug means also…This statement is affecting the people. That means the Telangana government is not capable of controlling alcohol and drugs. So we demand that whenever there is a consent like this, there should be a strict vigil on the people who are entering…”
