The maximum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 26.1 degrees Celsius on Monday, 13 degrees below the season’s average, marking the city’s second coolest day of May in 13 years.
Heavy rain lashed several locations in Delhi on Monday, bringing down the maximum temperature 13 degrees below the season’s average to 26.1 degrees Celsius. The India Meteorological Department has predicted the rainfall will continue in Delhi for the next two to three days accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds.
The rains brought to Delhi its second coolest day of May in 13 years. This came a day after the maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded at 28.7 degrees Celsius, 10 degrees below the season average.

The rainfall, which MeT officials said is caused by western disturbances, is likely to continue for the next two to three days. Dr Naresh Kumar, IMD’s Senior Scientist said a three-day orange alert for rainfall has been issued for almost the entirety of North India.
