Garima Lohia, hailing from the quaint town of Buxar in Bihar, has bagged the second rank in the UPSC CSE 2022 results and that too, without any coaching.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the results of the Civil Services 2022 examination, and once again, women have demonstrated their exceptional performance, securing top positions.

Among the top achievers is Garima Lohia, who has clinched AIR 2 in the prestigious examination. Notably, Garima accomplished this remarkable feat without the assistance of any coaching.

“I feel very blessed and lucky to have been able to see this day. I am very happy,” says the UPSC topper.

A JOURNEY OF DETERMINATION

Garima, hailing from the quaint town of Buxar in Bihar, embarked on her UPSC journey, determined to crack the exam and make her mark in the civil services. This was her second attempt, and she left no stone unturned in her pursuit of success.

Despite facing personal challenges, such as the unfortunate loss of her father, Narayan Prasad Lohia, four years ago, Garima remained resolute and committed to her goal.

In an interview with Bihar Tak, Garima expressed her pride in achieving such a remarkable feat, coming from a small town like Buxar.

She conveyed her gratitude for the opportunity to crack UPSC with a high rank, and her happiness knew no bounds.

GARIMA’S PREPARATION STRATEGY

“I started to prepare for the UPSC civil services in 2020 during the Covid-19 lockdown. I studied the basic books for UPSC preparation that everyone uses and also took the help of online resources,” says the UPSC topper.

“How long one studies is very subjective and differs from person to person. On some days, when I was in a mood, I would even study for 8-10 hours. On other days, I have even stopped at just 2-3 hours of study,” Garima adds.

Her advice to UPSC aspirants is to create their own personalised preparation strategies and study in an environment where they feel most comfortable, whether it is at home or elsewhere.

“Work hard, be consistent in your studies, stay disciplined and you will surely achieve success one day,” she advises future UPSC aspirants.
