Blinkit, in partnership with Sony, is delivering the PlayStation 5 Slim edition in just ten minutes. The gaming console was launched this month in India. However, the announcement by the popular grocery-delivery app has triggered mixed reactions on social media.
People have expressed their confusion over “why” there would be a need for such a quick delivery time for the console, while others have different opinions.
In a post on X on April 5, Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa said “Blinkit customers in Delhi NCR, Mumbai and Bengaluru can now get the all new PlayStation 5 Slim editions and controllers delivered in 10 minutes.”
The PlayStation 5 Slim is available for Rs 54,990 in India, while the Digital Edition (Slim) costs Rs 44,990.
This post has sparked a debate on X, with users questioning whether there is actually a demand for ten-minute deliveries of gaming consoles.
“Why does one need a PS5 in 10 minutes,” a user asked in the comments section of the post. “Why someone needs a play station in 10 mins? What is the use case here,” another person echoed the same sentiment.
“No but I want to know what kind of rich people have such urgency to buy a PS5 in 10 minutes,” another person commented.
“Okay but why?” another said.
However, another section of the internet praised this initiative and expressed their thoughts in the comments section of the post.
“10-minute delivery is a service, not an urgency. The question is whether you need a PS5. Whether it’s a yes or no, it’d be delivered in 10 mins. That’s it,” one person said. “Because why not,” another person commented.
