Anuradha Paudwal, who left the audience impressed with her melodious voice, joined the Bharatiya Janta Party on Saturday

Renowned Bollywood singer Anuradha Paudwal made a mark in the Indian music industry with her melodious voice. Over the years, she has impressed the audience with her soulful voice. She made a mark in the industry as one of the most sought-after singers after she rose to fame with her superhit song Tu Mera Hero Hai, from the movie Hero. On Saturday, she took her admirers by surprise when it was announced that she joined the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

As reported by the Free Press Journal, the announcement came hours before the Election Commission would announce the date of the Lok Sabha elections. The 69-year-old singer joined the political party in the presence of the party’s national general secretary Arun Singh, national media in-charge Anil Baluni, and other leaders. Welcoming her, Singh said, “Today, the family of the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expanded.”

As quoted by the FPJ, he added, “Whenever devotional songs are discussed in the country and abroad, there is no big name other than that of Anuradha Paudwal. She has sung devotional numbers for 35 years. Impressed with cultural and spiritual development of the country under PM Modi’s leadership, Anuradha Paudwal decided to join the BJP.”

Expressing her joy on joining the party, she shared that she is extremely happy to be a part of the party that has deep connections with Sanatan. Taking to her official Instagram handle, she shared photos from the ceremony. She wrote in Hindi, “Service to country and countrymen is the greatest service (folded hands emoji) I am extremely grateful to Bharatiya Janata Party they have given me this opportunity.”
