Puri Rath Yatra: The rituals involving three sibling deities – Lord Jagannath, Devi Subhadra and Lord Balabhadra – will be held in a single day on Sunday. This year, the Rath Yatra- related rituals like ‘Nabajouban Darshan’ will also take place in a single day – July 7.

The Odisha government has made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the festival.
New Delhi: The seaside pilgrim town Puri will celebrate the annual Rath Yatra festival of Lord Jagannath from Sunday. The two-day event – a first in 53 years – is expected to witness lakhs of devotees. President Droupadi Murmu is also scheduled to witness the Rath Yatra on Sunday.

The Odisha government has made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the festival. The rath yatra, which usually is organized in a single day, will be held for two days this year due to some celestial arrangements. The last time the pilgrim town witnessed a two-day event which was in 1971.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended greetings on the occasion.

In a post on X, PM Modi said: “We bow to Mahaprabhu Jagannath and pray that His blessings constantly remain upon us”.
