Shraddha Walkar was allegedly murdered by her 28-year-old live-in partner Aaftab in Delhi on 18 May 2022. He chopped her body into several pieces, kept the body parts in a fridge and disposed those of at desolate places across Delhi over several days to dodge police.

On Monday, the victim’s father told court that the accused had shared the horrific details of the murder with him. Aaftab had bought a saw, chopped off her wrists and put those in a trash bag, he said.
Vikas Madan Walkar was examined as a prosecution witness by the public prosecutor before Additional Sessions Judge Manisha Khurana Kakkar. He testified that he went to the Mehrauli police station on November 11, 2022, where he was asked by the police officials whether he recognised Poonawala.
