The Tamil Nadu Police on Thursday informed the Madras High Court that six people have gone missing from Jaggi Vasudev’s Isha Foundation in Coimbatore since 2016.

The police made the submission orally before a Bench of Justices MS Ramesh and Sunder Mohan.

It also informed the Court that a probe into the missing cases was already ongoing.

The Bench recorded the submission and directed the police to submit a status report on such probe by April 18, the next date of hearing.

The Court was hearing a habeas corpus petition filed by one Thirumalai, a resident of Tirunelveli district, to produce his brother Ganesan.

Thirumalai had approached the Court after Ganesan, 46, went missing from Isha Foundation in March last year. On Thursday, he told the Court that after he had been unable to establish contact with his brother for several days, he had contacted the Isha Foundation. However, all that the Foundation had told him at the time was that his brother, who worked at the ashram, had not reported for two days. Following the same, Thirumalai lodged a police complaint and subsequently moved the High Court.
