2 US Army helicopters carrying 2 people each crash during training flight in Alaska

Two US Army helicopters crashed in Alaska while returning from a training flight on Thursday. Each helicopter had two people onboard.

By India Today World Desk: Two US Army helicopters crashed while returning from a training flight on Thursday in Alaska. This is the second accident involving military helicopters in the state this year.

According to a spokesperson for the US Army Alaska, John Pennell, each helicopter had two people onboard. Pennell said he did not immediately have any other information he could share about the condition of those involved, reported news agency Associated Press.

A statement from the US Army Alaska said that first responders were on scene at the crash site, near Healy. The AH-64 Apache helicopters were from Fort Wainwright, based near Fairbanks.

Authorities said they are investigating the matter and more details would be released when they become available.
