A month-long outdoor display of tanks and other military equipment that Russia captured in Ukraine took place in Victory Park prior to the nation’s Victory Day festivities
After capturing some American and British tanks from the front lines in Ukraine, Vladimir Putin triumphantly showed them off in Moscow.
Among the cars seen parked in the Russian capital with red banners proclaiming “Our victory is inevitable” was a British Saxon armoured personnel carrier, which is thought to have been donated to Ukraine in 2015.
The exhibit, which runs for a month, also includes a Swedish CV90, an American Bradley tank, and an armoured fighting vehicle built in France called the AMX-10RC. In an effort to celebrate the invasion of Ukraine, the Russian president also intends to parade the armoured cars, some of which will fly US and British flags.
In honour of Russia’s victory over Nazi Germany in World War ll, the exhibition will take place on May 9th, concurrently with Moscow’s Red Square Victory Day Parade.
In addition, a Swedish CV90, an American Bradley tank, and a French-built AMX-10RC armoured fighting vehicle will be present. Putin launched into a furious 10-minute address in front of the Kremlin on May 9 of last year, denouncing “Western global elites” and asserting that civilization was at “a decisive turning point.”
In Russia, the most important day of the year is the festival honouring the Soviet triumph in World War Two. Putin compares his invasion of Ukraine to Russia’s struggle against the Nazis.
Ukraine, which lost proportionately more ground to Russia during World War Two, accuses Russia of abusing its common past to support aggression.
