It was not too long ago that Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals were struggling to get the bowling unit to click. But in a sudden change of fortunes, they have put up an all-round performance as they came together to run riot at Ahmedabad and dismiss Gujarat Titans for a mere 89 runs in the first innings.
Pant was not too far away from the action. He was active behind the stumps, taking some fine catches and showing off his quick glovework as well. The DC skipper had the toss on his side as he chose to bowl first at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Many might have thought that they might be missing out big time with the loss of David Warner. GT also had the added boost of both Wriddhiman Saha and David Miller returning to the side to bolster the batting order.
But in an unexpected turn of events, it was a dominant bowling performance by DC. It started with Ishant Sharma taking the wicket of Gill in the second over of the powerplay. This was followed by that of Saha where Mukesh Kunar had rattled the middle stump in a show of dominance.
