Authorities in Noida claimed that popular YouTuber Elvish Yadav was part of a scheme to distribute snake venom at rave parties, allegedly to enhance his online popularity.
On Sunday (March 17), a local court arrested the Big Boss OTT 2 winner Elvish Yadav in connection with the snake venom case and sent him to judicial custody for 14 days. Noida police sources claimed that YouTuber Elvish Yadav supplied snake venom at rave parties in the National Capital Region (NCR) to increase his social media following and make money. Also, he wanted to show that he had swag.
Elvish Yadav Did This For Swag
“During questioning, Yadav did not accept the crime… but we have a lot of evidence. For him, it was to make a statement that he’s got ‘swag’ or ‘bhaukaal’. He wanted to paint a picture among his fans as someone who is completely unafraid of law-enforcement agencies and can do whatever he wishes,” said a police officer.
About The Snake Venom Case
The case came to light on November 3 last year following a tip-off from People for Animals, an NGO headed by BJP MP Maneka Gandhi from Sultanpur. Following the tip-off, police arrested five people from a banquet hall in Sector 51 of Noida. Although Yadav was named as one of the accused in the FIR, he was not arrested at this point. The FIR stated in the case, “We received information that a YouTuber, Elvish Yadav, shoots videos with snake venom and live snakes in farmhouses in Noida and NCR along with other gang members/YouTubers and organises rave parties illegally.
