‘You completely broke me down’: Russell Brand accuser reveals the letter she wrote to the comedian after he allegedly raped her against a wall in his Los Angeles home – and adds ‘He’s saying one thing and I know the demon underneath it’
• A woman who alleges Brand raped her in 2012 wrote him a letter after the attack
• She claimed she was ‘triggered’ when she saw him in Olympics ceremony
A woman who alleges she was raped by Russell Brand against a wall in his Los Angeles home wrote a letter to the comedian telling him: ‘You completely broke me down’.
The alleged attack is one of multiple claims from women accusing him of abusive and predatory behaviour, including rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse, between 2006 and 2013.
Brand ‘absolutely denies’ the allegations and insists all his relationships have been consensual.
The businesswoman, who The Times have called Nadia to protect her identity, told the publication she has spoken out after being enraged he has cultivated a new image as a wellness influencer when ‘I know the demon underneath.’
Nadia, who alleges Brand raped her without a condom when she went to his LA home in July 2012, said she wrote the star a letter to him after contemplating, and ultimately deciding against, criminal or civil proceedings.
She claims that she became ‘triggered’ after seeing Brand star in the closing ceremony of the London Olympics just a few weeks after the alleged rape, where he performed a Beatles song while wearing a Willy Wonka hat on top of a psychedelic bus.
In her letter to Brand, originally meant to be between her and her therapist, Nadia wrote: ‘Do you know what you put me through? My body through? My emotions and body are turned upside down… You scared the sh** out of me on July 1st.’
She continued: ‘I thought in any situation I would be strong enough to fight someone off. But when it’s someone you know, you don’t expect to be put in that position. You completely broke me down. ‘
