Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday warned that those attempting to provoke India will face retaliation in a language that they understand. His remarks came in the aftermath of the recent Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir.
While addressing the public during a rally in Lakhimpur Kheri, Yogi Adityanath condemned the Kashmir attack and paid his condolences to the bereaved families. “UP government pays condolences to the people who lost their lives in the Pahalgam terror attack and condemns this cowardly attack. There cannot be any place for terrorism and anarchy in a civilised society,” he said.
“The Indian Government’s model of security, service, and good governance is based on the development, welfare of the poor, and security of all. Yeh naya Bharat kisi ko chhedta nahin lekin agar koi chhedega toh usko chhodega bhi nahin. (This new India does not provoke anyone, but if anyone dares to do it, they won’t be spared),” he said.
“If someone tries to lay a hand on the security of the nation, then they will be made to understand in the language that they understand. New India is ready to reply to such people,” the UP CM added.

On Saturday, authorities in Uttar Pradesh said that they are overseeing the departure of Pakistani nationals on short-term visas, while monitoring the ones with long-term visas. India has directed Pakistani citizens residing in the country to return to their homeland before April 27 in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack.
Days ago, Yogi Adityanath had also met the family members of Shubham Dwivedi, the Kanpur resident who was killed in the Pahalgam attack.
