Andhra Dy CM’s comments come after Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin accused the Centre of trying to impose Hindi through its three-language formula under the New Education Policy.
Amid the ongoing language row, Janasena Party chief and Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan has backed the BJP and called out Tamil Nadu politician’s “hypocrisy”. The actor-politician said that white Tamil leaders are against Hindi, they allow Tamil movies to earn profit from Hindi dubbed versions.
“I do not understand why some criticize Sanskrit. Why do Tamil Nadu politicians oppose Hindi while allowing their movies to be dubbed in Hindi for financial gain? They want money from Bollywood but refuse to accept Hindi–what kind of logic is that?” Kalyan said while addressing the party’s 12th foundation day at Pithampuram in Kakinada.
He added that India is a country with diversity in languages, and hence needs multiple languages not just two. “India needs multiple languages, including Tamil, not just two. We must embrace linguistic diversity – not only to maintain the integrity of our nation but also to foster love and unity among its people,” he added.
Andhra Dy CM’s comments come after Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin accused the Centre of trying to impose Hindi through its three-language formula under the New Education Policy. He alleged the BJP-led Union Government is implementing a “saffronized policy” to promote Hindi.
Recently, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had slammed Stalin for “running the future of Tamil Nadu students”, after which, the Tamil Nadu CM warned Pradhan to be cautious of what he says.
“National Education Policy is not education policy, it is saffronise policy. The policy was not created to develop India but to develop Hindi. We are opposing the Policy as that would destroy the Tamil Nadu education system completely,” Stalin had said in Tiruvallur.
