New Delhi: In a bid to enhance the passenger experience, Indian Railways is set to introduce the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train, with the aim of offering a more comfortable and efficient option for long-distance travel. The Railway Ministry has confirmed that efforts are being made to launch the sleeper version of the Vande Bharat train series at the earliest. Once operational, this will be the third variant of the Vande Bharat trains, following the Vande Bharat Express (Chair Car) and Vande Metro (Namo Bharat Rapid Rail).

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw made this announcement in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha. However, he noted that the timeline for the rollout of the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train will depend on the successful completion of these trials.
Vaishnaw further stated that the introduction of new train services, including variants like the Vande Bharat series, is an ongoing process. These additions are evaluated based on factors such as traffic justification, operational feasibility, and resource availability.
