What Accused Sanjay Roy Told CBI About Kolkata Doctor’s Rape & Murder During Polygraph Test

CBI has sought court’s permission to put seven persons including Sanjay Roy and former principal of the medical college Sandip Ghosh through the polygraph test.

New Delhi: The main accused in the rape and murder case of a trainee doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, Sanjay Roy, reportedly claimed that the victim was already dead when he reached the seminar hall of the building. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which took over the probe from Kolkata Police, conducted a lie detection test on Sanjay Roy at the Presidency Jail where he is lodged.
During the lie detection test, several false and unconvincing answers of the accused was flagged, reported the Times of India. He was subjected to the polygraph test after he claimed innocence in the rape and murder case. The CBI has sought permission from court to put seven persons including Roy and former principal of the medical college Sandip Ghosh through the lie detector test. A team of polygraph specialists flown to Kolkata from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Delhi is conducting the tests.
The accused appeared “unnerved and anxious” during the test, and claimed that the victim was already dead when he spotted her, reported Times of India citing sources. The report said that Roy claimed that he ran away after spotting the victim.
