Recently, a video of something quite ‘unexpected’- but completely ‘natural’- was shared on social media, leaving most netizens ‘shocked’ and ‘curious’, as it turned out that no one ever saw anything like that! Wondering what it was? Well, the video showed a bat swimming- quite effortlessly- in a swimming pool. The incident, as per the viral clip, unfolded in Australia. As soon as the clip of the same was shared online, most expressed their surprise over NOT ever knowing that ‘bat could swim!’. Understandably, the video was quick to go viral. Most cracked jokes on the entire thing, while some shared how THIS was the first time they were watching a bat swim. As per the viral post, the incident happened back in January, in Townsville City. At the end of the clip, a woman was seen helping the bird in getting out of the pool.
“I have never once seen a bat swim. Wild,” the post read.
The video was shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘AMAZlNGNATURE’. The post was shared yesterday and drew more than 2M views from people.
“Fun fact of the day: bats can actually swim,” an internet user said. “I’ve never seen a bat swim,” added a second person. “Can we please call it the bat stroke?” added another person on social media.
“It’s a fruit bat. A flying fox. They have really cute faces, and they love bananas and other fruits. They’re pretty big, for bats, and they’re clumsy, and their hindquarters are very weak, so they tend to get themselves into awkward situations like this one,” added another person.
