Kambli himself revealed that the likes of Sunil Gavaskar and Ajay Jadeja have reached out to him in support.

The former Indian cricketer, Vinod Kambli, has gone on to suggest that he is ready to go into rehabilitation amid concerns over his declining health.
Earlier, a video had gone viral where Kambli had held on to Sachin Tendulkar’s arm, refusing to let go during a public event. But Kambli has gone on record that he is willing to get himself checked into rehabilitation to get himself back in good health.
“I’m ready to go for rehab. I want to go there because I don’t fear anything. My family is with me,” Kambli shared in an interview with Vickey Lalwani on YouTube.
Many former cricketers have come out, speaking their opinion on Kambli’s declining health. Some have gone on to offer him support, while others have implied that he needs to help himself. Kambli himself revealed that the likes of Sunil Gavaskar and Ajay Jadeja have reached out to him in support.
“Gavaskar was the one who spoke to me first,” he shared.
“Jadeja is a very good friend of mine. He came to meet me and said, ‘Come on, get up.’ A lot of people have called me lately. Everyone saw me,” Kambli added. “Definitely, they [BCCI] will help. Abey Kuruvilla (former India pacer) is with BCCI; he is in touch with me, and he is also in touch with my wife.”
The former India batter said he has no shame in admitting that his drinking habits landed him in trouble but added that he hasn’t consumed a single drop of alcohol lately.
“No, no. I had stopped drinking and smoking six months ago. Did it for the sake of my kids. I used to do it earlier, but I’ve left it behind now,” said Kambli.
Kambli’s record for India
Kambli played a total of 17 Tests and 104 ODIs for India during his nine-year-long international career. He made his debut against Pakistan in Sharjah during an ODI match played on October 18, 1991, and his last international match was against Sri Lanka at the same venue on October 29, 2000.
