In a high-voltage drama, a young girl caused a major commotion, when she climbed a water tank to protest her family’s refusal to let her marry her sister’s brother-in-law on Tuesday (January 21) in Uttar Pradesh’s Budaun. The incident was caught on camera and the video of the incident is doing rounds on social media.
The woman’s act resembles Dharmendra’s iconic character ‘Veeru’ from ‘Sholay.’ The high-voltage drama attracted a large crowd, creating a scene of panic in the village. The young woman was rescued by the villagers and safely brought down from the water tank.
Details About The Incident
The incident reportedly occurred today afternoon in Sarai Piparia village which falls under the Moosajhag Police Station area in Budaun. The girl who was upset with her family’s decision climbed a water tank built under the Jal Jeevan Mission and threatened to jump off. She was frustrated because her family opposed her relationship with Nitesh, her sister’s brother-in-law, and refused to let her marry him.
Villagers quickly gathered and tried to convince her to come down, but she refused. The situation escalated and someone informed the police and her family.
Rescue Operation
The police team arrived at the scene after getting information about the young woman climbing on the water tank and threatening to commit suicide by jumping off. Despite their attempts to calm her, the girl stayed on the tank, continuing her protest.
The police called two young men from Dataganj to assist. After nearly two hours of effort, with the help of a constable and local villagers, the girl was safely brought down from the water tank.

The people are seen in the video carrying the woman on their shoulders and bringing her down safely from the water tank. Luckily, the girl did not jump off the water tank and committed suicide. She was rescued on time by the villagers and the police.
After being rescued, the girl explained that she loved Nitesh and wanted to marry him, but her family was against it. She said this opposition drove her to climb the water tank and threaten to take her life.
